Menstrual Cup Webinar
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has introduced a scheme for promotion of menstrual hygiene among adolescent girls in the age group of 10-19 year in rural areas. The major objectives of the scheme are: To increase awareness among adolescent girls on Menstrual Hygiene. A menstrual cup is a type of reusable feminine hygiene product.Cups can hold more blood than other methods, leading many women to use them as an eco-friendly alternative to tampons. While a century has passed since its invention, most of the Indian girls, women and girls, do not find the idea of inserting a cup inside their body reliable and safe and are more comfortable using sanitary napkins. Although menstrual cups have come a long way in terms of design and availability, women in most developing countries are still grappling to come to terms with this innovative device. Since you can reuse your menstrual cup for every period, there is less waste created to clog up our landfills or improperly disposed of in toilets to block up our sewage systems. Menstrual cups are not just good for your body; it’s also good for our planet. To create awareness about the menstrual cups and have a healthier and comfortable menstrual cycle K.S.R college of Technology volunteering team has planned for a online webinar on “Sensitization campaign on menstrual cups” on February 22,2022 from 6pm-7pm on Microsoft teams to break the taboo of menstruation hygiene as well as the discomfort of sanitary pads.
