It’s time for Diwali - New clothes, crackers and sweets!!! It’s time for us to celebrate this festive occasion with our family and loved ones! Diwali, the festival of love and light, is here! On this auspicious occasion that celebrates goodness and giving, By donating your chosen amount to people who need help, you have redefined the spirit of giving and kept the circle of impact going strong. But there are some kids who are not as lucky as we are - they don’t have a family to celebrate this Diwali with. We believe that every kid deserves to experience happiness, especially in their childhood. The main reason for this celebration is to create a sense of community among the kids. And for them to have fun! We feel nothing short of immense gratitude for SM Volunteering community of 800+ donors that have helped to bring up the smile on the faces of the 32 orphan children. The fundraising was done by making the donors run a marathon in the places or the localities they live in with the help of the starva app. The marathon consists of two distance stages 3 km and 5 km on 31/10/2021. The donors can run to the extent they can. This marathon is the expression of joy and the reason for the smile of the orphan. The fund raised was totally spent on the children and buying needed things. The fundraised amount was Rs 35,000+. Just as Diwali signifies light over darkness, SMV team hopes to continue to be a platform that can help children out of the darkness of financial turmoil and lead them towards the light of good health, recovery, and goal achievement. The children’s smile is greater than anything in the world. Many of the students, faculty, and Heads of the department, and other forums participated in the Diwali run. More than 500+ donors participated in the Diwali run.
